  Tech Service Chemist- Mid Fairfield County, CT. One of my preferred clients, a manufacturer in mid Fairfield County, Connecticut, seeks a Technical Service Chemist to develop custom formulations for customers. This financially secure, employee-oriented, family-held, non-union company has a "no layoff" philosophy. There is zero company debt--all of their buildings and land are paid off. They boast of having many professional long-term employees. The Tech Service Chemist will be working closely with customers, formulating and testing metalworking and lubricant additives. There is very little travel—maybe 5 – 10%. The salary target ranges from $50,000 to $65,000, depending on industry experience. I will present qualified chemists to $70,000. This company offers excellent benefits, which include 90% company paid medical and dental plans, a now rare 100% company paid pension plan (50% average salary on 30 years service), tuition aid, 401 (k) plan, credit union, eleven holidays, and more. They will assist with some moving expenses, but they hope to find a local employee. A physical with drug test and criminal background check is part of the interview process. The requirements for the Tech Service Chemist include a BS/BA in Chemistry, two or more years experience in formulating new products, a good grounding in analytical chemistry, and a people-oriented personality. Any background with metalworking additives or with lubricant additives is strongly preferred.
