APPLICATIONS ENGINEER TRAINEES (2) Southwest Connecticut
This is a rare opportunity for you to leverage your classwork in engineering and manufacturing
experience to become an Applications Engineer within a two year period. Following a formal
Applications Engineering training program, you will travel the U.S. and Europe 25% of the
time, assessing aerospace customer requirements for products, evaluating designs, making
technical presentations, using 3D modeling for design feasibility and performance, and
strengthening relationships with customers. This division of an aggressive corporation
has had sales leap by 50% since 2009 and they had a 22% increase in sales each year for
three years prior to that. Their customers include a long list of Fortune 50 aerospace
corporations. The atmosphere is unstructured and freewheeling, allowing plenty of
opportunities for career advancement. The highly positive General Manager, also an
engineer, is known for allowing his staff to stretch out and find their own limits.
Because this is a dynamic, rapidly changing company, serious opportunities for career
growth abound. This new training program will include exposure to manufacturing methods,
one year in design engineering, one year in applications engineering, travel to a number
of corporate manufacturing sites, materials research, seminars on team building, and on
making presentations, and more. The salary ranges between $45,000 for light experience

or manufacturing engineering dept. preferred), some college engineering coursework, “roots
in Connecticut”, a people-oriented personality, strong mechanical aptitude, an interest
in travel, and the drive to build a longterm career in engineering.
