Machine Designer

MACHINE DESIGNER- Greater Waterbury, CT. Do you prefer the small company environment? This design and manufacturing house has been around since the 1950s and has a worldwide reputation for producing top-of-the-line, highly precise systems. They have well over a year backlog of work, and someone just retired, creating this opening. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the boss is knowledgeable, unpretentious, and his sense of humor is well-developed. All of the employees here have been here a good long time—there is no reason why you couldn’t retire here. You’ll be designing large machinery on AutoCAD 2008 and AutoDesk Inventor, and there is some checking of other Designers’ work. The salary ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 an hour, maybe a little more, depending on level of experience. The benefits are very good for a small company—100% company-paid medical insurance for the first $3,000 in expenses, then you pay the next $1,000, then the company picks up everything after that. There is also a 3% company-matched 401 (k), merit bonuses, and Christmas bonuses have been known to be sizable. Requires five or more years of machine design experience, as well as some exposure to checking. No relocation on this one.

Sorry, all positions require permanent U.S. residency.
