Product Manager

  PRODUCT MANAGER- Boilers Northeast
Like to be a key individual in an organization with long-term vision and plenty of new products? This expanding, highly profitable manufacturer of steam boilers and hydronic systems in the rural Northeast seeks a Product Manager with extensive steam industry experience. The company has been aggressively investing in new product development, having rolled out three new products in the past year. Sales have exceeded expectations on one of these new lines. In addition, there are nine more products in the research and development pipeline. Due to the resulting increase in business, a 130,000 square foot addition is being built for their beautiful facility. Management here offers a healthy bonus plan to employees to help stimulate success. For the past five years, bonuses have ranged from 15% to 25%, based on company profitability. Their atmosphere is friendly and team oriented, and they pride themselves in having many long-term professional employees. Reporting to the Vice President, the Product Manager will assume responsibility for an entire line of products. Some of the major duties are marketing—differentiating company products from the competition, meeting with customers to uncover new areas of development and to read where the market is headed, driving new product development and engineering enhancements, appearing at trade shows, establishing quality, sales, and profit goals, forecasting, advising on applications, arranging advertising, and more. The base salary ranges from $85,000 to $100,000, depending on level of experience, and with a 15% bonus, those numbers become $97,750 to $115,000. At a 25% bonus, this range is $106,250 to $125,000. Affordable housing here can run from $80,000 for a “fixer-upper” to $175,000 for a four-bedroom house. Superior benefits include 100% company paid profit sharing plan, 401 (k) 100% company matched to the first 4 % of salary, $25.00 weekly contribution for medical, relocation expenses, and a safe, rural location to raise a family. Position requires a four-year technical degree, BS Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred, at least five years of Product Management or Engineering Management experience with a manufacturer of boiler/hydronic systems, good familiarity with ASME codes, and a customer-driven ideology. Advanced education in Marketing is strongly preferred. Senior Product Engineers with industry background, and candidates from the nuclear steam industry will also be considered. A psychological assessment is part of the interview process.
