Quality Engineer

  Quality Engineer- Greater Houston, TX
This is a genuine opportunity for you to become Quality Manager within 3 years with a smaller, highly profitable manufacturing subsidiary of a huge, global, highly respected "household name" corporation. They consider themselves the world leader in their highly reliable, customized systems sold to Fortune 100 companies. Business has picked up dramatically; they have orders running into 2013. Their knowledgeable management, on board for 30 years, has created a tight knit, relaxed atmosphere. They pride themselves in having many long term professional staff. Since theirs is a small department, you will have a wide range of typical quality engineering duties, with only occasional (5%) travel. Some of these will include quality system maintenance, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, continuous improvement activities, employee training, conducting audits, interfacing with suppliers and customers, reviewing nonconforming products, creating quality manuals and procedures, creating quality documentation, planning and organizing, and managing receiving and outgoing quality functions, and much more. Your first task will be to assess and revamp their current quality procedures. Depending on level of experience, the salary ranges from $60,000 to $80,000. Their fine benefits include a 401 (k) plan with a company match of 50% on the first 6% of salary, a discretionary retirement supplement program in which employees have received 6% of salary for the past five years, and relocation expenses. A three bedroom 2500 sq. ft. house on a decent lot here sells for $150,000. Requires permanent U.S. residency, a BS degree in Quality, Mechanical Engineering, Materials, or Industrial Engineering, three or more years of Quality Engineering experience with a manufacturer using ASME Section VIII welding procedures, and the capability to head up a department within three years. ASQ certification and exposure to exotic materials is strongly preferred. Contact Kent Kirkland at KirklandSEARCH (203) 729-7000 kirkland@kirklandsearch.com for more information.
